Indonesia's ambition to achieve a net carbon sink for the land and forest sector by 2030 requires the support of various parties.

Asia Pacific Resources International Limited (APRIL Group) has launched the 'APRIL2030' program in November 2020. Through this program, the Royal Golden Eagle (RGE) business unit makes a commitment to sustainability and contributes positively to climate, nature and community development for the next 10 years. . One of the company's efforts in implementing the program is the commitment to achieve zero net carbon emissions from land use in the next 10 years. The company also targets to be able to reduce the intensity of product carbon emissions by 25%. Sihol Aritonang, President Director of PT Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper (RAPP), the operational unit of APRIL Group, said the move was in line with the government's priority to realize a long-term low-carbon strategy. In addition, the company also wants to participate in responding to the global consensus on the importance of the private sector's role in mitigating climate change. According to him, APRIL will carry out a number of strategies to control the company's emissions independently.
